Recent Whirlpool Repairs

Whirlpool WTW5000DW Top-Load Washer

Oshawa, ON

Fixed

Problem

Washer filling with water but drum not agitating or spinning. Cycle completing without any drum movement. Customer confirmed no error codes displayed on the panel.

Diagnosis

Lid switch assembly had failed — a very common fault on Whirlpool top-load models. The machine fills as normal but the lid switch prevents the motor from engaging without a confirmed closed lid signal.

Repair

Replaced OEM lid switch assembly (W10404050). Full test cycle completed — drum agitating and spinning correctly. Same-day repair completed in under 90 minutes.

Whirlpool WED5000DW Electric Dryer

Ajax, ON

Fixed

Problem

Dryer running but producing no heat. Drum spinning normally, cycle completing, but clothes coming out completely cold and wet after a full 60-minute cycle.

Diagnosis

Thermal fuse (WP3392519) blown due to restricted exhaust duct. Heating element tested and confirmed intact. Duct run had a 90-degree elbow partially blocked with lint approximately 1.5 metres into the wall.

Repair

Replaced thermal fuse (WP3392519). Cleared full duct blockage and inspected exhaust termination cap outside. Test cycle confirmed heat restored. Recommended annual duct inspection. Same-day repair.

Whirlpool WRF535SWHZ French Door Fridge

Clarington, ON

Fixed

Problem

Ice maker producing no ice for approximately 3 weeks. Water dispenser working normally. Freezer maintaining correct temperature. No error codes on display.

Diagnosis

Water inlet valve (ice maker port) had partially failed — water pressure to the ice maker inlet insufficient to trigger fill cycle. Second port supplying the door dispenser remained functional, explaining why dispensing still worked.

Repair

Replaced full dual-port water inlet valve assembly (W10882923). Ice maker produced first ice cycle within 2 hours of repair. Same-day repair completed in under 2 hours.
